2011-2012 Calendar of Events

A musical trip around America's most exotic and musical state - Louisiana - opens to the spirited strains of our own "Goodbye Bayou"; "Louisiana you've always been good to me, Cypress trees and Spanish moss and poetry." Beginning in the northern parishes, we'll explore the reels and ballads, gospel songs and blues of the earliest settlers. Visit cotton fields along the Red River Valley and stop in Arcadia, where the outlaw couple, Bonnie and Clyde, were gunned down. We'll pick a little bluegrass, learn the secret of good Bar-B-Que, skin some deer, and go on an alligator hunt. We'll tell stories of north Louisiana's old time recording stars, Lead Belly, Jesse "Baby Face" Thomas, and the Taylor-Griggs Louisiana Melody Makers.

Cori Smith, Former member of Canadian fiddle sensation, Barrage, returns to Tecumseh with the Heartland String Project. Performing a variety of styles, ranging from new acoustic to jazz to bluegrass, with joyful energy. A fantastic performance.  Each evening will also feature students of the TSO Program.

Join us for an evening of fun, laughs and entertainment with music, hors d'oeuvres, silent auctions and of course the best Eco-Fashion Show in Lenawee County! Artists, designers, ecologists and fashionistas are creating one of a kind fashion garments, created from re-purposed vintage wear or recycled materials. Hand bags ,hats, dresses, shirts, shirts and pants may appear on the runway for this TCA benefit event. Come vote for People's Choice and cheer on your favorite model. TDW's annual spring recital-dance concert. Enjoy an evening of great choreography and fabulous dancers of Tecumseh Dance Workshop and TDW's Company. You'll enjoy students of all ages from first year to seasoned dancers who have been chosen for pre-professional work with the Joffery Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet and Hubbard Street Dance.
